Welcome to La Bagatelle Restaurant

 La Bagatelle Restaurant is a French family run restaurant, using quality sourced ingredients from Scotland and France, which are freshly prepared for you on order.

Taking time is all part of the experience at La Bagatelle.

We have in the past been at the mercy of the food critics for our decor, hand on heart these same critics have had nothing but praise for our food, so if you are into interior design we are perhaps not for you. But if food is your thing then we have venison, rabbit, pheasant, pigeon, fish, pork, lamb and beef, all locally sourced, cooked with french style.

Chef proprietor Christophe Pelletier trained in Dijon, advanced his culinary expertise working for the Rothschilds the Swedish Royal Palace and a plethora of well known Edinburgh restaurants including the Queensway, Creperie Francais, l'Etoile to name but a few. His love of cooking reflects in the time and care taken to prepare each dish.

His partner Karen Perschke trained at Duncan of Jordanstone and gained experience at the Bruar Falls Hotel, Moulin Hotel, the Crusoe, Lower Largo and Dunfermline College of Physical Education.

All the photographs of food in this presentation are all produced and made by us in the restaurant or for outside events. They are not stock photographs as are used in many web sites.

 

Important Information

For the moment we do not have the new liquor licence and even when we have the new licence we will still allow bring your own bottle as our contribution against the recession. A small corkage charge will be made of £3.00 per bottle. Sorry for the inconvenience and we thank you in advance for your continued support. We will let you know of any changes as soon as we know. Please feel free to drop your wine off prior to your booking and we can chill it down or decant it for you.

Dinner Wednesday and Thursday 6.30 - 9.00

           Friday and Saturday 6.30 - 10.00 

We will open earlier for our early evening menu on request

We concentrate on the cooking of the regions of France, changing the menu regularly usually on a weekly basis.

We also do outside catering in your home or at an appropriate venue from 2-200

We are now going into our 14th year at La Bagatelle and are privileged to have a clientele who love French style food and wine.

La Bagatelle is situated in the heart of Tollcross 5 minutes walk from the King's Theatre. (Through Tarvit Street) and the Cameo cinema

We are 5 minutes walk from the Bruntsfield Hotel, Novotel, Premier lodge Lauriston Place, Sheraton Grand and lots of good guest houses in Gilmore Place and its environs.
